Soundtrack idea for Shawshank Redemption

Soundtrack comprised of 4 main orchestral instruments, quantizing and tweaking notes within piano roll.

Enhancing the low frequencies on low-note string ensemble, creating a warm presence within the soundtrack.

Adding EQ to higher strings.

Tweaking the EQ rolling out much of the lower frequencies and creating an airry feel to the strings.

Compressing the main output track.

Enhancing the bass frequencies for brass instrument.

Trimming all files before exporting.

Creating space in the mix, blending frequencies with the other string instrument.

Shawshank Redemption Soundtrack:

During our Title Sequence brief Moses and I were initially going to recreate a title sequence for Shawshank Redemption, but had to change our idea due to location issues. Before we changed our focus I managed to create a short soundtrack for what would have been the title sequence. I used various software plugins using instrument samples and chose an orchestral set, creating a classical & calm piece of music to accompany the planned visuals. Although this will not be used, it could be in the future for another possible project. I believe I gained more familiarity through this creation process and again I enjoyed transforming the scape of the music via manipulating EQ and creating space in the mix. I have found a set number of plugins that I have found a tendency to slip to when mixing sounds which is a good thing although I am conscious to not be complacent as there is so much more to learn.
